SANDELL, Bonnie Lee passed away peacefully February 9, 2017. She was born January 19, 1933 in Coffeyville, KS. She was predeceased by husband, Norman and son, Gary; parents, Edward and Lorraine Stephenson and sister, Dorothy Dobbs (James). Surviving are children, David Sandell (Cathy) and Julie Schaper; grandchildren, Lindsay Jimenez (Carlos), Molly and Rachel Schaper; great- grandchildren, Isaiah and Gabriel Jimenez and Braxton Ray Hamer. After they retired from the Air Force Bonnie received her Bachelor of Music with Summa Cum Laude honors from ASU, Tempe, AZ. She played violin and was concert master of the ASU Symphony. So proud to still be in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. She continued her education and received her Master's degree in Music at the UofA, Tucson and played violin for the Tucson Symphony for 16 years. Bonnie and Norm had a beautiful marriage of 64 years. They loved to travel and socialize, very blessed to have so many wonderful friends. Bonnie loved to do her hard puzzles in the paper, she was intelligent and wise. Bonnie was an incredible mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, she was always there for her family and friends and had so much love to give. The Sandell family also has a great compassion for animals. Services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017, 3:30 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, 702 Amos Becker Rd, Winfield, KS.
